Designed to fit and follow the shape of your foot on an exclusive SAS Foot-Shape® last. The SAS Tripad® comfort cushions give long-lasting, all-day comfort. Initial fit should be wide enough to stay comfortable across the ball of the foot yet roomy enough in the front so the toes are not cramped. The heel should be snug and should not slip while walking.
SAS X-Tra Grip Sole™: The SAS X-tra Grip Sole® has outperformed industry standards using the Brungraber Mark II testing method for wet and oily conditions. The unique hexagon shape rubber outsole pattern helps to channel floor spills to maintain effective contact with floor surfaces and is non-marking. Our polyurethane midsole is a lightweight and flexible component that provides comfort without compromising support. The slip-resistant X-tra Grip Sole is most effective when combined with proper floor maintenance at home and work.
SAS Waterguard™ Leather: SAS Waterguard™ leather is water resistant. This leather is breathable, soft and supple while being durable enough for the challenges of most work environments.
SAS Cool Step™ Foot Bed: Our Cool Step™ removable foot bed is designed to keep the foot dry and comfortable all day long. The anti-friction top cover inhibits heat, providing a cooler surface underfoot. The bottom layer wicks away moisture while cushioning each step. SAS CoolStep foot beds are antibacterial and washable for a healthy foot environment.
SAS Tri-Pad® Comfort System: The green odor resistant Tri-Pad system cushions the 3 pressure points of your foot; the inside ball, outside ball, and the heel. This patented material never loses its shock-absorbing capacity.
EZ Lace System: Slides through the rings so easily you have to be careful not to lace it too tight. EZ Lace allows for even adjustment across the instep.
Finally found what I was looking for review by Mark on 3/30/2017
After looking and buying far to many shoes, I discovered SAS and decided to buy them. I work long hours on concrete floors and recently have had problems with my feet. I went and tried these on in a store, but they didn't have ny size. I could tell they were what I had been looking for. I ordered them and can honestly say they are the most comfortable shoes I have ever worn at work! After 25 years I finally can come home from work with happy feet!
RN review by Alex on 12/14/2016
I work as a registered nurse and tried other shoes for work. I bought the SAS guardian on a whim, that was 6 years ago, and I'm only on my second pair. I cannot believe how comfortable, and durable these shoes are. I have literally walked thousands of miles in my SAS shoes, and wouldn't dream of wearing anything else to work. Are they beautiful? I'd say no, but then again neither is what I'm standing in at work, while wearing them. Any nurse knows the popular brands of shoes we see in health care, but ask yours self this, ever see those folks slip in all the water and fluids we walk through? I have. With the tread pattern on the guardian the idea of slipping in water never even occurs to me. To any healthcare workers, or anyone who knows someone in healthcare, do yourself a favor and get a pair of these guardians. Trust me, you'll be glad you did. Thank you for your time. Alex.
Warehouse/ fleet maintenance for UPS review by Ann on 3/19/2016
I work on concete for 9 hours 5 days a week and these are the best shoes for comfort, durability and safety (water & oil). I have planters fasciitis and these shoes stop the pain. For optimum support, I recommend replacing them after a year of constant use on concrete floors 40 hr/52 wks. I wash Package Cars for UPS on smooth concete and have never slipped from walking in soap & oil water from the cars.
Quality, comfort, and fit are very important to SAS. Because of this, we always recommend being fitted for SAS shoes at one of our retail stores whenever possible. Our in-store fittings include the use of The Brannock Device to get an indication of proper size. A shoe is not ‘fitted’ until it is placed on the foot, but the fitting process can begin with this device. Size is first measured heel to toe, then the arch measurement is taken from ball to heel and width measurement is indicated on the outer side of the foot. Both feet are measured and a variety of sizes and widths may be recommended to try before making a final selection.

Tips for Measuring and Fitting
- Remember, when we go up in size, the width may also increase.
- All styles fit differently.
- Many customers may require doctor recommended orthotics. Inserts may require added depth in the shoe and make it fit differently, so try to account for this adjustment.
